Patrick Mahomes’ Half-Brother Announces Transfer To Major College Football Program
Graham Walker, the half-brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is transferring to another Division 1 football program.
Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Walker is transferring to Rice after spending the last three years at Brown. Walker will play wide receiver for the Owls, perhaps pushing himself closer to one day joining Patrick Mahomes in the pros.
Walker is the son of Pat Mahomes Sr., a former Major League Baseball pitcher whose career spanned from 1992 to 2003. Mahomes Sr. had Graham with Jessamyn Walker, who has primarily raised the child with partner Gerry Howatt (Graham’s stepfather).
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Walker recorded 44 receptions for 515 yards and six touchdowns in his final season at Brown. He had his best statistical season in 2021, recording 53 receptions for 658 yards and six scores.
Like his old man, Patrick Mahomes was a star baseball player in high school and college. He played the sport at Texas Tech before choosing the path of football. Despite this, the Detroit Tigers drafted Mahomes in the 37th round of the 2014 MLB Draft, just in case he decided to switch career paths.
