They were Hollywood’s hottest couple but Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have announced they are separating and planning to divorce after seven years of marriage.
The pair got engaged on Christmas Eve 2015 after dating for just six months and married less than a year later in Palm Beach, Florida.
A source reportedly claimed they tried for a baby after the wedding but ‘they both have come to the conclusion that they’re too old’. The couple were last seen together last month in Hoboken, N.J., as Sofia visited him on the set of his new project ‘Nonnas’.
In a joint statement the pair told Page Six “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Sofia, 51, is a Columbian-American actress best known for her role as the glamorous younger wife, Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the ABC TV series Modern family. In 2020 Forbes named her the highest paid TV star thanks to Modern Family and America’s Got Talent with $43 million.
